Construction will soon begin on a new single-family home in the Central Business District of Downtown Cincinnati. The home is the first residential home to be built in the area in quite some time. Quest Real Estate LLC is building the home to gauge the interest in homes in the area.
The three-story house will be built on Fourth Street Historic District and will cost around $1 million. The exterior of the home will look the same as the rest of the area, keep it in sync with the district, but the inside of the house will feature an open floor plan and large windows, to make it feel more like a home. There will also be a garage, which is a big feature for the home, because the garage will allow the drive to turn around in it so the driver never has to back out onto the busy street.
A home like this does not exist anywhere else in the area, and will resemble many downtown Chicago homes. Currently most of the Downtown living is in the Over-the-Rhine area of the city, so this home offers many advantages to business executives and athletes because of its proximity to the business district and stadiums.
Though they could have pre-sold the home before starting the process, the developers are confident that the home will be sold, and sold quickly.

The nonprofit organization known as Wasson Way has made plans to turn a 6.5 mile stretch of decommissioned railroad tracks into a pedestrian and bike trail. This trail will connect to more than 100 other bike trails in the Cincinnati area.
Wasson Way hopes to further connect the community to each other when it takes this idle piece of land, and turns it into something that everyone can use. It is projected that the trail will cost somewhere between 7.5 and 11.2 million dollars. The organization is gathering the necessary funds for the project through fundraising events and federal grants.
Currently the organization is awaiting more than 2 million dollars in federal grant money. They are also still awaiting the approval from Norfolk Southern Railroad to purchase the stretch of unused tracks.
If all goes according to plan, Wasson Way hopes to have the project under way in 2015. Wasson Way is one of four nonprofits actively seeking to build bike paths and trails connecting throughout the city. These nonprofits are looking to provide residents with a unique way to get moving through Cincinnati, and hopefully further connect the residents of Cincinnati with one another.

Last night (or rather this morning) nearly a hundred space enthusiasts gathered at the Cincinnati Observatory Center to witness the satellite-broadcasted landing of NASA’s rover, Curiosity, on Mars. Children and adults alike were excited to witness Curiosity’s first moments after a successful landing on the red planet. On top of the Curiosity landing excitement, the Cincinnati Observatory Center’s famous 1845 telescope was also a big hit with guests who got to gaze at the moon close-up. Visitors had to have had a blast as the observatory was open until after 2 am! Reds fans and animal enthusiasts were treated to a day with the pros as the whole Reds team visited the Cincinnati Zoo.
